UP TO DATE!!!

### NOW i have caught up with reality once again. There is only the saturday skate from 2nd of decemeber to edit and put together. so these videos pretty much bring me up to date.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WORCESTER BAILS
Firstly the bails section for the worcester edit. I fell hard a few times here, it felt like i fell all the way along the coping. I missed a switchup... well you can see it for yourself!
ME 48 part 1
In this one i try and leran Alley-oop pornstar to backside Royale. This is a trick i cannot do. Pornstar aren`t a strong trick and i found it hard to get my non-soul foot down on the coping, also i landed the royale as a cess on the deck, over and over which was frustrating.
~
NOWHERE EDIT
This video is 48 part 2, filmed on the same day and full of more tricks than part 1. Soul to flatbank and flatbank gap to AO mizou, several spins and a nice rocket 3. I was loving the sweatstance on that day too.
Two Runs
I made a run up in my head, and then tried to do all the tricks back to back. I slipped on a leaf so stopped and then did the second run exactly the same, until i ran out of breath!
MATT BARR
all i need to say is that this time around its dolemites turn in the spotlight so here he is:
MY ASS
In this one, i do a few random things and fall over a lot! I remenber smacking my ass on the end of the halfpipe, that really really hurt my ring.
more videos --- including the HALLOWEEN special
Nowhere Session
We had some visitors at nowhere for the first time in years.
CheltBMX came to ride the park.
There isn`t much room in there, which is why its an inline park really, so the place was a squeeze at times, but they were ok. I was working on a trick (0:08) all day, I pretty much went through everything i learned recentyl in this clip. I filmed my new stall. mizou 360 soul . so watch that!
HALLOWEEN
I`m posting this in the forum too, its particulary mad. We (Jak, Sarah, Rachael and ME) went for a midnight skate on halloween all painted up. We were there for
an hour, 11:45 till 12:45, filmed and skated. Took all this time to get it online! Anyway we skated the flowerpots and many people came over to watch us.
~
HALFPIPE CHICKEN 4
In a freak accident - the classic, somebody follows somebody else and the first person does a 180 instead of getting out the ramp or stalling, leaving the person behind nowhere to go. This happened to Jak (in black) and Lewis (with the hair)
and then as you can see this left jak superman`ing into the wall of a transition.
I think this is one of my better videos, I actually landed the tricks i tried tricks and most of them are new aswell. I`m happy with it, and this would be my 47th video. let me know what you think...
My second part of the Nowhere session a few weeks ago. Quite a few nice tricks in this one. backside stall 360 in on the 9 foot vertwall. A few 360, i`ve been trying to flatspin but still can`t !! Some nice switchups and stalls too.
NIGHT SKATE
middle of town, just before halloween. I only do a few tricks in this video, as all i do on this are basic tricks like mizou, soul, royale and farvs. I just try to hit it as early and fast as possible.
In a few of the grinds i slowed it down to show how quick i`m going.
Check out the speed of the bus compared to me. in the last clip. its doing at least 20mph around the corner.
Fireworks Safety, one real edit and a Funbox session video
FLOWERPOTS EDIT
First off, i made a video to try out a few filming/editing tricks i concieved.
The flowerpots edit only has 3 or 4 tricks in it, but i tried to edit it properly.
The final cut has music but i uploaded the cut before it was added in.
EBLEY RAIL
george and I went on a mad skate from spot to spot, we only stopped for a few tricks and the idea was to get the tricks in and leave before anyone noticed or bothered to kick us off
The first spot we filmed was the Ebley tyre garage rail. The rail is capped with loads of little bolts, but luckily they used round headed bolts!
~
NOWHERE FUNBOX SESSION
Next up a session at nowhere, featuring many airs and spins over the funbox, the actual grab in each spin is slowed down so you can see what it is.
I was especially happy with the liukang to mute 360 !! and the hippy clinch 3 which followed it... and the ribcruncher 360 which follow that!! 0:06 - 0:18
FIREWORKS PSA
Finally, with the celebrations behind us now, the Fireworks Safety Public Service Announcement.
Always follow all precuations when using fireworks as they can blow up in your face! ..as we found out when a rocket failed to launch but still exploded.
This is why there is a minimum distance. No Llama`s were harmed in the making of this clip.
new trick practice
my latest trick, is just a stall. I like the feeling when you land it, i've tried to grind it, but i miss the switch leaning over the deck to far...
i approach the quarter and hit an alley-oop mizou, then i keep turning alley-oop, switching my h-block foot around into a frontside position. At the same time you must jump and spin onto your natural soul foot. It's a nice trick, as soon as i get it on tape, i'll post it.
~
I've spent a month or so, learning my new tricks better so that i have them down.
Since buying my Remz i have improved loads.. XD
~
I hooked up with a friend from 8 years ago, when we all used to skate together. He had an ancient camera and i've lifted an hour of footage from it, the quality it full of static and grainy, it even loses colour several times.
I will be editing a few short 'OLD SCHOOL' sections for youtube, as it was in 1998/99 and that was AGES ago.
In 98 i had longer hair and no style. I had just learned AO Mizou and it shows.
In 99 I had no hair and more style. I was ok for the times.
Also found some video of Guy Crawford skating at my place. flatspin madness.
2007-10-16
its nice to see everyones journals coming along, i add to mine a lot and i read all the other at the moment, we have a pretty even spread of age, location, ability and experienxe between us. Its pretty cool.
Anyway, last night i met a skating buddy from back in 99/2000 and he had a camera which he used to film with us at nowhere skatepark. The quality is terrible, but i might be able to lift a few videos from the tape.
I'm STILL around 2 weeks behind reality with my videos, but i can say i learned alley-oop mizou 360 alley-oop soul (left foot natural to natural, with clockwise rotation) as a stall on halfpipe, also i got zerospin soul 360 truepsin mizou (left foot natural to natural with anti-clockwise spin), which was pretty dope. been trying to get em for ages.
Anyway, my latest video is from a skate i had painted as a clown - waldo the clown
Insomnia & switchups
I have 7 tapes full of footage at home. well here we go....
I have been skating continously recently, everyday, minimum of 4 hours each day av. 8 hours.
(due to lack of sleep) I've learned loads...
#34
click here
I start with some warm ups tricks from a new angle we discovered with the PoleCam. I tried my first 3 piece switchup, switch front farv to makio to mizou to backside royale (budget!).
Landed full cab true mizou stall, nearly fells loads trying the grind, locked the stall a few time though.
Nowheresk8 200 nowhere mission 2 - Newport.
click here
My bit is at the end, i do all the filming when we go to other parks, i just get someone with me to hold the camera if i have any tricks i want on the tape.
The park closed at 5pm on saturdays?? so we only got an hours, before they shut, all the filming was in the last 10 minutes. My first proper vert run in 6 years features at the end, with a soul grind and a few backsides.
#35 3am session (video length 6.24)
click here
I had a problem with insomnia the last few weeks/months, went skating at 3am with some friends (non-skater mates) for 3 hrs. They filmed me. I had been awake for over 4 days solid, skating everyday (trying to see if i could tire myself out)
I went to the park with everyone at 4pm on the sat then left at 10pm took everyone home and returned at 3am for lack of a better thing to do.
I start with a few airs, (slomo liukang grab) I included near misses and bails. I did a few zerospin tricks (fakie grinds) and 3 piece switchup attempts. Landed switch front farv to AO mizou. i was trying loads of stuff i can't do, mainly switch-ups, like switch ft. farv - true mizou and AO bk. royale to inspin soul.
I did a few runs aroudn the park and when i checked the time it had just gone 5am. So thats 2 hours of skating on my own, in sub zero temperatures!
After near 100 hours with no sleep and a ridiculous amount of skating, i was feeling tired!!
Still i kept on skating hitting the funbox mainly. Also i got a nice trick near the end. soul to soul on two copings, that aren't actually in line. near the end of the video.
This video was soooo looong.
#36
click here
First trick - Truespin mizou. followed by airs and a soul on the 9.5ft vert qtr. Then various angles of me doing the soul again but pulling a stealth grab out, my mate Alex Wilds idea.
Then i took it to the funbox for a stealth 180, stealth 360 in slomo and an abstract 540. I then bail a abstract 540 on landing. After that bail i got liukang 360 and mute 540. I went back to the mini to try true soul again. That trick escapes me.
I landed a clean true mizou and then tried out my sweatstances.
#37 --- so much happens in this one!
click here
First trick Switch frotn farv to AO mizou, then halfcab inspin mizou to royale OUTSPIN 180 out. nice low mizou and sweatstance, but missed the kindgrind.
Landed ft. farv to true mizou stall. Tries full cab truemizou stall but missed and it went backside on landing. Tried a cess slide across the deck turning 180 to AO topsoul but fell. Tired it again this time to top porn but that didn't work either. It was a silly trick anyway!
I tried sitting down on my switch frontside farv but bailed and nearly broke my right hand with the weight of my torso. broke up the video with 2 transfers.
at 0:50 i got half-cab inspin mizou to royale 180 out (inspin) and landed two sweet true mizous and then .... missed that bloddy truespin soul !!! aaagh
Two slomo tricks over the funbox - switch fakie mute 360 and a big air.
I tried zerospin soul on the 9.5ft vert qtr but bailed it and rolled over the deck.
back to the mini - landing zerospin backside royale to inspin soul. this gave me an idea!
zerospin soul inspin 270 backroyale! i missed but still i've been trying it since.
at 1:25 there is a seriously stale topsoul.
Nearly had that True soul !!!
Did some nutty transfers with various grabs from mini to flatbank (farside of funbox) and back the wrong way.
Last Trick -
Slomo Switch frontside Farv to Alleyoop Mizou to fakie.
The next video is made but not online. I also made a bails video of just me, all filmed on the same tape i sorted the bails and misses into a separate video - sorta like out-takes. I land a few things i've been working on so i'll probably add the post tomorrow (ish)
Progress not Perfection.
2007-09-25
catching up with reality...
I start off with Ian Flatmans video - Click here -
Ian and I went for a session at nowhere with Matt Barr Filming due to injury. He got some new angles on the halfpipe, and the tape ran out after 15 minutes.
Only his 5th video but still Ian was laying down his usual solid topsides with a few really seet backside/frontside variations. I believe he landed a switch-up on camera!
Also from the same day is my video Will Allen 32 - a halfpipe session. I was practicing spinning out of my tricks and the usual grinds. - click here -
Remember Kids - Smoking is NOT cool. click here NowhereSk8 PSA. (hamcam)
Now I didn't have my camera for a weekend, on that day i learned truespin mizou, switch kindgrind, switch ao top-pornstar and managed to put mute, safety, stale, liuKang (freestyle) and Abstract into my 540's over the box.
This was quite surpising, so i started trying (fakie 180 /outspin) halfcab sweatstance and coming back halfcab kindgrind. I was so close locking my topsoul foot but not the trailing boot.
Feeling inspired, i started working on switch frontside farv/full torque (rightside to leftside). I ended up trying to switchup from switch front farv to natural alleyoop makio (clockwise spin). This lead to switch fr.farv to AO makio to backside royale. Iswear you can finish any switch up in a frt/bk royale!
Afterwards i started trying Alley-oop backside royale (grind from right side to left side) (spin clockwise 180degrees before the back royale lock-on) then rewind 90 degrees onto a soul (its going backwards to i would say alley-oop but because of the backroyale being alleyoop and the spinning the opposite way to soul, its actually truespin?? I guess its AO back-royale inspin soul? ehh, whatever it is i landed it at 4am on sunday morning on tape!
When we were filming the trictionary on Friday (we were there for six hours!!) I was doing the truespin mizou video, at the end of filming the last angle i thought, "I've landed 15 true mizous in a row... I gonna try landing soul!" and damn it i landed it on tape! I only just learned this trick so i was very loud when i got it. It's so blind!
I also started trying full cab (fakie outspin 360) truespin mizou. I only landed the stall so far, but my skates keep slipping near the top of the transition as where people have slid down thousands of time in the same place, the wood is now polished by a thousand arses.
the latest.
After the imense content of the last post, i realised this was turning into a magazine on it's own. So to save me time and to get back to the root of this Journal, I will focus on just me, not a full report of everyone and everywhere! I will link interesting bails videos and maybe a few videos of note, but from now on i will just talk about my own skating and that should make it easier to read and easier to follow. shorter too (^^)
~
We start around the same time as the hat video. We went skating pittville pump rooms, there is a 4 ft gap and a stair set. the tarmac is horrible to land on and trips you up or slides out. eeurgh!
First video is the man they call Ham. He bailed a fairly large gap around 12 feet-ish. he took his knee out and then we sprayed insta-plaster on him, which stings as it has a TCP additive! nice. > click here to watch < the pain 2
Then there is my video, i didn't do much, but i did 180 the stair set a couple of times. I tried to medspin off but only managed to half cab as i was worried about catching my heel wheel and cracking my head open.
> click here to watch < will 28
After skating the pump room we went to pittville skatepark around the corner. I had a good skate, with a few hip-transfers in and out of the halfpipe and some grinds. The tape messed up when ham was filming my airs. I also air up a wallride and climbed over to get to the mini-ramp, which is something only we bladers can do !!!
> click here to watch < will 29
The next day We skated Beeches near my house. I was at first just doing stuff i know i can do. Then i started trying Truespins, over and over and over and over. Until i got it. I got truespin mizou and acid on the middle ledge, In the video it doesn't get my true-acid but you do see me land it only to slip off with one foot AAARGH!! i couldn't believe it. I couldn't get it for the camera when we got it out.
> click here to watch < Will 30
next up is something more recent but its barely worth a mention as the video went on youtube and is crap. It's like a slideshow the video is totally wrong for youtube.
Anyway we were at a supermarket and i spotted a little concrete flatbank on a curb, so we got out and skated it. Then we found a gap from a petrol station to the road, Matt did it and he snapped his able frames in half. It was 11pm. Hillarious!
> click here to watch < filmed on a mobile "sorry" really cad quality. i'd skip it...
On Sunday we had a massive session with a total of 14 skaters coming to the park. Many different styles and tricks. All the videos are on my channel just look for different names around the #185 mark.
I was having a good skate but mostly stuff i can do already. > click here to watch < will 31
I did start trying to land some switch soul tricks, i made a video of the process i used to learn switch makio to backside. I could not do a makio stall before this day. I left in the bails and the order i tried stuff the same as from the original tape. > click here to watch < Learning switch soul tricks on mini
second post to catch up with reality
After 3 weeks, i'm used to my skates!
I had a session last friday night with Ian Flatman and Matt Barr (matt was injured so filming us with the camera)
I got two videos out of it #190 & #191
We were only skating the halfpipe so it was all grinds. i got a nice back farv, sweatstance and kindgrind. I've also started spinning out more again. Ian was his usual topside crazyness, i got a nive front farv showing him 'catching deck' where he's so low, it looks like a surfer touching the wave.
Uber post spanning 30 videos
Well we start off with me in my mates size 9 remz. Never skated them before, had a quick go as i needed to replace my salomons
click here to watch They were lush and so i obtained a pair through my contacts.
We started off with a session on Montpellier new skatepark, I was skating with Alex wild click here to watch
(who had a short skate as he kept injuring his knee in the same place) and Jak click here to watch.
Alex did a bit of the filming due to his injury. I had a skate click here to watch and while we were there some new rollers arrived and we got talking to them.
The group had come from bishops cleeve a small village on the outskirts of cheltenham.
I got George, one of the skaters on tape while we had a skate at montpellier. click here to watch He skates Majestic 12 and they broke during our session! he was landing topside mistrals when it popped out.
We then had a skate up on the cox rails, even though everyone was cooked from skating all day by this point! I managed to get a video out of it click here to watch
Next day it was so hot that nobody really came up to the skatepark, I made 3 sections from the session though -
Jak 16 click here to watch
Lewis 4 click here to watch
Will 25 click here to watch
After the Nowhere session we met up with other skaters at beeches near my house.
The Cleeve group plus most of us from nowheresk8 were present. Ham was the first clip i made.
He was landing 540's and high royales on the top ledge. click here to watch
Lewis another nowhere regular He can also ride BMX and Skateboard, pretty well too, i say he should just rollerblade, but he is pretty good on that bmx of his.
Lewis was grinding the top ledge aswell as a few signature moves for fun! click here to watch
I made Liam click here to watch and George click here to watch from the cleeve lot sections from this skate.
Liam has some quite tech stuff up his sleeve. a few switchups that seemingly come from nowhere and many solid tricks on street. George is similar His tricks on street are varied and although i've only skated with him a couple
of times i can see the beginnings of switchups i'd never thought of yet! Lastly my video from the skate, with a few new tricks from me. 540 and big 360 out the hip alley-oop. click here to watch
Now Next up... Alex Wild 17 - again this clip is short, he smashed his leg... again ...and put himself out for the day/weekend but he did volunteer the camera duties which was cool. click here to watch
Lewis had a skate with us at the coxs rail and he did pretty much the whole rail from the top to the tree marking the corner... which was cooooool !! click here to watch Leiws also features in a
special video - the 8 foot ball tap. A local 'Speed-climber' got stuck up a tree in montpellier park, my friend Lewis offering to help him down. The kid slipped and landed his nuts right on the back of lewis' head. From 8 feet at least up, I slowed it down : click here to watch
Ham and Lewis went head to head for the second leg of the Halfpipe Chicken tournament, with Ham bailing but coming out victorious. click here to watch
My first skate on Coxs with my new Remz skates. click here to watch Which was strange but really awesome as i landed all my tricks with no probs. Also there were some tricks from montpellier, but nothing amazing, just stuff i could already do on my old skates.
## ~~~ ##
Now we enter the Sunday (i think!) I picked up a Friend i haven't skated with in over 4 years as he moved away. His name is Nick and he's from cardiff, I have 3 videos from him and they are DOPE. i'll get back to him in a bit though....
Jed came with me to get a pizza and while we were waiting i filmed him on the flowerpots (my fav. spot in chelt center) which i will be arrested for skating on 3 charges if they catch me again. They don't care if there are no flowers in the pot, thats the bottom line, i'd never been warned and never been moved along, so they did that a month ago or so.
Anyway Jed came through with some impressive tricks busting out topsides and switchups - click here to watch. Ham was chilling at montpellier skatepark while i got my lunch, he likes his cess slides and 540s, he'd been working on a switchup or two aswell click here to watch
Everybody was warmed up and we headed to the skatepark, First video was from Jed, he had a few switchups on halfpipe click here to watch. Ham was also present at Nowhere that day, he has been learning switch front farv which is pretty much all thats in the clip.
Matt Barrs' Last section for a while, he has torn all the ligaments in his right knee so will be out for a month. click here to watch His mad bail features in slowmo.
for a slomo of the slam with the knee injury click here to watch.
More madness from Jed and Ham, Jed decided to disaster soul over ham sat on the railbox. Thing is he clips hams knee at speed with his soulkit. ouch. click here to watch
Now for the last few... ***If you have read this far, please message me and put a number 7 in the email/pm***
Nick i mentioned before and i shot 3 videos of him. He's a Street Skater and wears Deshi skates's with white USD soul-kit.
First video is from Beeches we warmed up here for 10/20 minutes before going to meet everyone click here to watch featuring sick kindgrind and AO top-porn.
Once we'd got to the meet we had a skate on montpellier before going to nowhere click here to watch.
I was hungry and ordered a pizza, while we were waiting for it to be cooked we had a ninja skate on this spot in the town centre for 10 minutes, it was cool and we were out of there in under 15 mins!! click here to watch
THE LAST VIDEO!!
I did a fun edit with a hat that Ham wears. I call this THE HAT.
what can i say
I got some remz.
they were blessed by buddhist monks.
My salomons are inferior.
suddenly i can sweatstance and kindgrind. I've been landing truespin-acid-soul and other crazyness which normally would result in me falling over. i can land switch tricks now, which i could never do before - that is opening new doors for switchup combinations.
I have some videos in the pipeline and i lan to post them like the last post. I've been skating so much i haven't had much time near a pc. I must have filmed 4x 60 minute tapes, and i already have 13 videos ready for upload. arrgh gotta cut it all...
anyway - we had a semi-jam / gathering at nowhere and we had 11-14 rollers over the day. the session was prettty good.
recently i've been trying switch tricks, souls and mizou's on street and rails/planters/ledges. makios on halfpipe.
i also have been trying to go from mizou to truespin-switch-mizou. but it keeps landing makio. also my truepsin acids allways miss with the acid foot.
keep rolling guys - i'll post more soon.
friday night and saturday 24/25Aug07
I finished work on friday and met up with everyone at Nowhere.
First i let everyone else skate for a bit, and did some filming. I was stood right in the middle of the mini filming alex wild click here to watch I also did some filming on the deck right down on the floor. Al landed some nice tricks.
Jed click here to watch skates street with Ham usually but they are up for park skating, Hamclick here to watch is a street skater but likes to hurt himself in the pursuit of new tricks. Jak has only been skating park for a short while click here to watch but has learned loads this summer.
Bails 6 click here to watch
Lewis click here to watch totalled his knee (in slomotion) in bails 5 i think, but he came up the park for the first time in ages. Being a BMX and skateboard rider, i give him a lot of credit, i can't do either. My nan can ride a bike though.
GREIVOUS!! my entire edit from fridays session was lost (okay i deleted the raw file by accident before i had cut the video D'oh) oh well...
I did however manage to cut a video from my favourite marble flower pots and landed a few cool tricks. Mr. Matt Barr did the filming and got some new angles. I was trying to sit down on my mizous and bend over my bk farvs, i put one in slo-mo at 0.08 into the clip,
I nearly hit the camera at 0.15. I finally got BS farv at 0.24 so i slowed the trick down to show it.
Finally at 0.30 i made a short clip of my switchup-rewind by timestretching in 3 places. click here to watch
Bails 7 click here to watch
On saturday afternoon, we went to nowhere first. Alex Wild had wrote himself off at pittville earlier in the day so he did most of the filming. Matt was going Balls out for glory click here to watch and dan was learing loads of stalls. click here to watch
I did a few grinds - still working on those bs farvs! - with a few sweatstances thrown in there click here to watch. Nice liu-kang to finish as my last trick.
August 2 weeks
well 2 weeks ago I wrote up our Stoke trip to see the local kickboarders and sample the ledges.
Since i have been all over the place complete with random happenings. This will take me some time!!!
I also had 4 root canal fillings last week and my jaw is killing me, i'm sat at work dosed up on cocodomol and codeine.
nice.
anyway - here's the latest.
We went for a session at my local, beeches and i hooked up with a friend of mine, Ryan Renard, he skates on Xsjados and he seems to get a lot out of them,
I filmed this video when we were there, he loves his spins and you can see that, i slowed a 720 to show his technique. Ryan Renard 2
Also Russ was with us, he didn't really skate much so i made this video of him sat at the side of the park. nothing much happens i just made a comedy loop out of him!!
Russ head banging Also Alex Wild was skating and he was laying down many sweet tricks which i can't do, lol.
on Friday We hit Coxs rail for an hour me and jak sessioned pretty hard, I was trying to get my mizous down better and getting my switch up to balance better. mizou to royale.
We tried a few camera angles, one time i switch into the royale and nearly took the camera out (I actually grind straight past it and got lucky it was a few mm too far to be hit by my front wheel on the royale)
will 14 Jak 9
That evening i picked up my son for the weekend, so I didn't skate again until saturday late afternoon, my mum wanted to look after my son for a few hours so i went skating at coxs again then when i was to pick him up, i found an old porta-rail!!
I sessioned that until Jak arrived and we both skated it until it was too dark to see. I had the camera on a tripod so i got two videos out of it.
Will 15 Jak 10
It was pretty cool as i think it helped my bk farvs (full torques if you call them that!) to be more boned over than before.
Saturday evening i looked after my son and then Sunday lunch i took him back to his mums house. In the afternoon i picked a few people up and headed to nowhere for the sunday sesh. Ryans section was particulary fresh, his style is different from most of us
and it looks good Ryan 3
you will notice that in the video ryan does a succession of airs on a vert quarter, it's 8.5 feet high. We were having an air comp. on the vert qtr. In my video i also do around 3/4 airs on that ramp (after the funbox session) I think it was close but gave it to him as it had more balls.
will 16
After nowhere skatepark, we went for some outdoor at pittville.
Pittville - i made a video showing the park - Pittville skatepark for a UK skatepark search engine.
We all had a good skate there, sessioning the hailfpipe, doiuble funbox, spines and deathbox. Ryan 540 the second funbox on the double which was sick.
matt barr 7 , Ryan 4 , Will 17 .
I was surprised i was able to clear the double funbox as they took away a quarterpipe which used to feed it and replaced it with a flatbank that had a 3 inch deck!! It is too close so getting speed for the double is hard now. i have to roll over the first one and air the second box! grr i used to 540 that years ago!!
All i could manage was a mute 360, but that box is long! We all had another air comp on the death box ( i call any tall funbox with transition each side a death box as you can't see the landing until you are at the top of your air arc.) Which was cool.
I took most people home and then went to coxs rail for a quick skate before going home. Matt Barr, Jak and myself posing as MullettMan hit the rail with conviction. I sat down with a mic under the rail in an attempt to capture the 'music of the rail' i sat there for 10 minutes filming jak and matt
so the tricks at the beginning of thier videos are from me sat there. I then sat on the rail for a bit and we argued about the position of the tripod! In the end i put it right next to the rail. Then Matt disaster royale over the camera ! which i didn't like and told him not to do again. The tape was rolling as he did it so i used it
as the intro for his video. Matt 8+matt 9 , Jak 12 , ..MullettMan 2 - the return.. aka "come skate with MullettMan."
The MullettMan videos are fun, i'll be creating a new character soon!! Anyway for part of the MullettMan video Matt decided to try out a pro angle and stood ontop of the traffic lights to film it!! It was hilarious as the thing was really unstable!
Thats Week1 done.
I didn't really skate for most of the week 13th-16th aug. as my teeth were killing me. I hadn't been to a dentist since i had my wisdom teeth out 5/6 years ago and i needed 4 root fillings i had 1 done on tuesday and 3 done on thursday. ouch.
While i wasn't skating i played rolling as Jak brought his PS2 around and i captured two videos from that. I'll post them on the forum though!
Alex wild came over and we made him an uber-edit from the last month of raw footage i had of him skating. He picked a tune and i uploaded it.
Every trick has been in an edit already and it's 4 mins long, but i enjoyed making it and it came out pretty well. Its the first edit i've made in a while so here it is:
Alex Wild - uber-edit - filmed in one month by Will Allen
I was able to skate again on thursday night with alex, jak and matt. I didn't get any tape of me skating but i got some great footage of Alex,
Alex 12 , Alex 13
He seemed to be having a good day. I was just trying bk farvs on ramp. Friday night we headed into the town center to skate the flowerpots. There is a large paved area for pedestrians and they have two marble flower pots there
they are around 7-8 feet long and i love them. I don't love youtube for refusing to host 2 videos from this day. straight to dvd then. (annoying as it was jak and alexs best clip so far)
We had two people there who weren't new but not regular. Dan who has been in the army and is back on leave, and james who has just strated skating this summer. I won't link there videos on here but they are easy to find in my videos #117 & #118.
As it was getting dark Alex filmed me for a while and the result was this video - will 19
I have been working on my mizou to royale switch up and have made it my own now, I also like soul to bk farv but it's far from perfect. I have been working on bk farv aswell but it's hard to get your body over the ledge without going to far and falling in the flower pot lol!! XD
On saturday we went to nowhere again. In the afternoon as i had work until 1.00ish. I took Ham with me and filmed his second video. He is a good street skater, but hadn't skated ramps for about a year. he was falling over but didn't care he kept skating until it was time to leave, i made his video to try and capture that.
Ham 2 as you may have guessed by now i make a sh!tload of videos. :D
Ham was kind enough to hold the camera for me and i made this video from the day will 20 featuring: the contortis 360, some 540s, attempted bk farvs,a failed ao soul (lol) and a slowmotion bail.
I filmed Sunday and Monday night but have only made one clip so far. Me. two mizous and a monospin. with SFX.
Cheltenham inline skating - we hit gold.
more as soon as i can show you what i'm on about. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. next episode, being banned from my fav. street spot by the po-po. noooooo!
4th August
I had been at work all morning on the 4th August. As soon as i got out at 12.30 i drove around and picked up Matt, Alex and Jak. We all went to my house, to prepare for the journey. Once i was happy i had everything we got in the car and i hit the trip.
We got on the M5 north and followed it past birmingham, then joining the M6 to stoke on trent again continuing north.
Once we had found the place we all piled out of the car and started walking over to the plaza.
You can see what it was like - watch a video of the plaza
We had driven 90-100 miles, but i was stood for 2 minutes gawping, not able to decide which direction to go and skate first.
I rolled around and checked a few ledges out and the stair sets. There were over a hundred skateboarders and so inline lines cross theirs a lot, no big gaps or grinds for us. We eventually found a ledge they couldn't skate and camped out there. I spent ages in the bowl but never got myself on camera.
I only shot videos of the 3 lads i took with me and the actual park.
I found it frustrating to a point as many if the nice ledges weren't even waxed. We couldn't wax the whole park, so i skated around until i found a nice one and just kept bk farv'in it. I landed a AO mizou over a hip in the bowl from the vert section to the mini section and a Soul on the smaller of the two ledges we found.
I'll link to Matt's video here View the video -matt barr
31st July Beeches Railbox session
on the 31st July we went to the beeches for a railbox session, i had learned some new tricks on the top ledge of the planter so i wanted to get them on tape, everyone was gagging to skate though, it was a nice day.
I always warm up on the funbox with a few safety tricks (soul, mizou), when i feel in the flow i'll try some new stuff, or take it to the railbox. i started on the ledges with royales on the middle height ledge. I used to hate them and never do them because i would always slide out really nastily.
since i've been taking pointers from the street skater i've been rolling with for the last year, i actually progressed! Until this year i hadn't really learned anything new since 2002..
Anyway i stated jumping onto mizou's building up the speed. I really want to mizou to royale on the top ledge but i'm first to admit i can't do it yet.
the video is here as i recorded the whole session and made edits for everyone.#69 Will 9 -railbox
Anyway the two new tricks i got on the top ledge were Alley-oop Soul and Backside Farv. They are far from perfect and i miss them loads but i'm starting to get over the massive jump to the grind and it's so satisfying when you land a trick like that.
#78 Will 11 -railbox
wicked skate - learned my AO souls better and only fell a few times.
3rd August Pittville session
on the 3rd of August, we went to Pittville AKA the place where broken glass goes to die.
After navigating our way to the halfpipe i got my camera on its tripod and recorded a few runs on the halfpipe of me and Alex Wild.
I was doing a few grinds, but my main efforts were going into getting the backside farv on halfpipe right, i recently learned it on the top ledge at beeches and its looking good on ledges on street so i wanted to get it right on ramp.
I Worked on that for a while and then for my second run, tried chaining airs together as i had new wheels and it felt good. For my final run on the miniramp i messed about a bit. Nearly grinding off the edge of the pipe by disastering to AO Mizou to fast.
#82 Will 12 - pittville mini
Then we skated the rest of the park. I tried a few grinds on this thing they used to slide over the mini at night. it's square and it needs wax!!
I managed a nice mizou but everything else landed a bit funny. Afterward i put the camera on a quaterpipe and attacked the deathbox. Its a BMX park and the box is transitioned both sides, with a mellow/shallow curve on the landing quarterpipe. probably 7ish feet high.
I tried a few airs i think i did an abstract, a 180 and a couple 360's. After that I asked Alex Wild to film me from some different angles. He sat on the floor and got some cool silhouette clips as i jump the box. I was getting a decent amount of air - around 6-7 feet above the top of the ramp.
#84 Will 13 - pittville session
We left as the sun was going down and yes.. it was another sweet skate.
Beeches railbox session
It was a saturday afternoon and i took my camera and tripod and went to my local.
the weather was good and it was dry. I hooked up with a few of the crew and got the camera setup. there were a few skateboarders there i skate with and some little kids.
We were skating a podium style metal railbox. it's has three levels, curb height, knee height and waist height in the middle. it has square edges - which i hate.
i started with royales as i'm never happy with the angle of my legs, trying to get them down more on the knee height.
i recently learned to mizou the top so i've been adding speed to grind from end to end better. mizou 180 off and soul on the top i also like.
after the tape ran out i learned backside-farv and alley-oop soul on the top ledge.
i filmed those the next day, but i haven't made that clip yet.
i'll try and post the session video below
Railbox 1
Railbox 2
i'm will - in the green shirt and white salomons and a bandana.
jak is wearing grey joggers and usd's
alex is in black trousers, white razors and white t-shirt
russ - in blue jean and black top
it was a good day, cool skate.
2007-07-11
Drove home and got my skates to head to a local spot. Rode down on a motorbike so i could park up right by the rail. Only a small one at about knee height but it is about 100ft long, half of it straight the other half bends around a corner.
I started of with a soul grind, its slightly uphill for me as i approach rails with the rail on my left for natural soul tricks. after that i tried a few medspins and balance going backwards on my right foot.
A couple of mates were with me and they were trying various grinds so i got back on the rail.
i started doing mizou's must have done about 5 until i was happy with my position over the rail, i manged to get the straight section to the end and then tried a few mizou to royale switch ups, landing fakie. Simple stuff but i love it. mizou to royale is a nice trick on rails and ledge, feels good.
Then i tried a few backsides, i do them switch so the same way i soul. again slightly uphill so you have to go faster to get a decent grind. I tried a few back-farv's but i couldn't quite torque the front foot over enough so they don't count!
I got a few nice backsides that landed back on the road, many a stupid scream as i hit the grass running when i balls it up.
afterward i tried a few soul to bark-farvs but again i could torque my front foot and they landed backside coming out fakie.
I managed to land several mizou 360 out (left foot soul - clockwise rotation) which i learned yesterday on a ledge. then i went onto the flat again. I was doing a high speed 180 duck under a low barrier and this mono thing i've been learning. Its hard to explain but here goes -
I roll forwards and swing my right foot round to (switch fakie mono) go backward on my right foot, then 180 onto my left foot going forwards (mono) then jump to backwards on my right foot again and repeat quicker the spin is clockwise. I've been doing it to learn medspins better.
i landed a few medspin 540 rewinds which is 180 to backwards on your right foot then without touching the ground spin clockwise 360 to land backwards, then immediately 360 anti-clockwise to fakie.
after i'd sat down for a bit i hit the rail one more this time from the other end with the rail on my right - which i hate! but i had to conquer my fear of jumping over the end..
I landed a couple of sweatstances to my surprise as i always miss them and i landed two horrible 1 foot long topsouls to fakie. :S
nice session.
