Site is coming along nicely

I've finished the Menu, and the pages have been laid down. Sorry about the contact form, it needs changing so the link is wrong at the mo'

My son's christening this weekend so no pic's this weekend. Expect the pages to be complete in a week or so.

Nowhere to skate? Try www.sk8m8.com THE UK's Skatepark Search database.

My email: Will(at)nowheresk8.com

Park Pictures, will be up soon. I will be embedding some video's i have hosted on MySpace in the Video page. Video's filmed at Nowhere Skatepark.

For all your Skating needs, Support Skater Owned Shops!
www.UKSKATE.com

I don't get paid for these links I know from First hand experience. The Skatepark search is extensive and is as easy as entering the name of your hometown. It features descriptions and rating, complete with Photo's for many of the Parks. If you have a digital camera/Phone camera then YOU can help too. All the Skatepark Pictures are uploaded by users of the Site. Check skateparks in your area and if your local has no pics, you could help out by uploading your pictures to the site. I'm already doing the Cheltenham Area. UKSKATE has been established since the time of the first Nowheresk8.com before 2000. They have many members spanning the rolling community. The Shop is top notch. I recently bought a new pair of skates for £80 including delivery, they arrived next day! They are awesome.

The contact form is going to be fixed next.

......Unlucky

Well, i got there and the Key didn't work? I then remembered that there is no gas meter. The Electric meter read 14500. Which is funny as the electric people are trying to say it reads 54000 from their estimate.

Anyway, i now have more keys... just hope i can get in to take these pictures.

I'll try again after work.

Park cleaned

I am going to be brief as the system just wiped my post for no reason.

Here i am in my skates with the new broom, purchased to clean out the park of it's crap. Leaves, Cobwebs, bird crap, wierd sugary seed stuff, plants growing through cracks, general dust and snails (?) all had to go. This was also the first time a broom has stood up to this test and not broken.

link to the pictures (edited**)

As you can see here, the Ramps are considerably cleaner than before, the surfaces are still smooth and the copings are still fast. The main reason i am cleaning it up now, is summer doesn't last forever. When it's raining i intend to be putting the park to good use. After all -it won't be there forever.

continued from last post

Having swept the topdecks, i started sweeping the carpetted area by the stereo. This flung up so much dust in to the air i had to go sweep on the other side of the park. After that was done came the hard part. The ramp surfaces - first scrubbing the transitions, starting at the top, working down and back. Soon there were large piles of crap in the middle of the ramps. I then swept it all off the edges. Next time i go down there i'll scoop the piles and chuck 'em in black bags. The difference is large. No slipping, smoother throughout, one thing i couldn't sort was the bird crap though -it stains.

Weekend session

Went up to the park on Sunday. I've put some pictures from the day on the images page of the main site. They are not that good but then i'm not that good. My mate was still putting down alley-oop fishbrains like he does. I also retook the pic's of the park as they look dirty. Unfortunately the Pictures all came out really dark?! So i'll have to try again this week sometime. Mobile phones take ages to take the picture after you press the button. We had to take the picture when you drop in on the other side of the ramp to get the trick

at all.

HelmetCam

I have been playing around with a Helmet Camera. It's totally wireless and records AVI to a memory card.

Unfortunately it's too dark inside Nowhere to film with it, so i'll be taking it with me to other parks around the country. I will display the footage under a new section entitled Outdoor. (coming soon)

Nowhere News

The site has seen some changes to the menu and the organisation of pages.

The Local section has been replaced by two categories

'Other Parks' is for footage from other skateparks both indoor and outdoor,
pages are listed by location and date of the event.

'Outdoor' will be for Street footage as and when it is filmed. For now it contains a direct link to last time

i went down to pittville skatepark.

In other News i've been asked if i can submit some footage to GBH ramps the company responsible for improving our skatepark in Pittville. I hope they can use it as my camera work is crappy

News - November

Ahhh November - It stops raining for long enough to skate because it's freeeezing!

Wait for the Ice that's what i say. But still the Park is in one piece for now, so if it starts snowing again like last year i know where i'm going.

Planning to go to Motion Skatepark in Bristol (the old SK8 & Ride).
Also planning a Massive tour of outdoor parks in my area (south-ish) near cheltenham.
Also want to check out Redditch - it looks pretty cool and i've never been there.

The Massive outdoor Tour will include most of the following Skateparks:

Cinderford
Jsk8 - Draycott
Newnham on Severn
Saul Mini - Saul
King George V playing fields - Nailsworth
Whitminster skatepark - Whitminster
Bussage skatepark - Bussage
I will be going to catalogue what ramps are there, take photo's and report the condition of any known

Ramps/structures in the Skateparks. Of course i will skate the Ramps too, but that goes without saying.

Depending on Rain/Dry conditions - Motion (bristol) or Redditch - soon!!

Tonight - Street in Cheltenham Town Centre
-or-
Skate Nowhere if wet...

light at the end of.....

So i have restarted the GifProject - I will compile a large catalogue of GIF animations (old school heh) which people can download and use as Avatars on Forums or in Blogs and transfer to your mobile phone for use as a background or screensaver.
At first it will be hosted at gifproject.nowheresk8.com, moving to it's own domain as soon as there is enough content to warrant that.

Video From Bristol

Trip to bristol
Went to Motion in bristol 9/12/2006

(edited**) Sorry!Link no longer available (edited**)

There will be a new section on this site showing links to video's from the day. They have moved all the ramps around since my last visit about 4 years ago. The Vert has been cut down and moved closer together also the spine now has a selection of wallrides added to the end backing onto the vert. There is also a foam pit which you can fly into if you so wish.

All in all it was well worth the visit. The next trip planned will be Newport in Wales. Date to be announced.

Edit response

It looks like the response to the Edit i made was bad. Damn.

But then i am following the path to become better at making/producing Video. I have since bought decent software and a better camera is on it's way to me. So hopefully soon there will be a better edit on the site. The trouble is.... there are not that many locations you can film this time of year. The plan is to tour as many outdoor parks as possible. I'm not really that interested in filming street, the competition is well established and the name are known. I want to see unknown locals at unknown Skateparks doing their best.

Aggressive skating DVD's are commonly centered around Street skating as to other inliners it is possible to understand the difficulty in landing the harder tricks.

However to beginners and others who are new to skating as an extreme sport will not appreciate the achievement of such moves. This is why i want to film skateparks, as there are so many and outdoor means there should be more going on.

The random Footage was an experiment i didn't even have any it was taken from my phone as a test. In future it would be properly filmed either in skateparks or on the way to skateparks.

Through contributing to Sk8m8.com i have learned the locations of some nice outdoor and indoor skatepark around these parts. With a proper budget and allocated time i could venture further afield to even more great skateparks.

New content & features

The site continues to improve with more areas sure to expand in coming month's.

The GifProject page has been changed to show the trick names and the person doing that trick. The Video page has a quicklink to a new short clip with the old video page linked.
The Images page is now page 2 with new images displayed on the first page you see.
The new nowhereJam has been uploaded with the new video here:
http://www.nowheresk8.com/jam_070118.html
(The new camera i got isn't that good indoor, but at least it is sharper than the camera phone i had been using.)
The first Trictionary video is up for testing purposes. This trick video has expanded since i first uploaded it. The aim is to display every skating trick in several mediums, Animation, Still photography and Video.
The Bails and Slamms section is on it's way, The first video is coming soon...
There is NO street on the site yet.
The forum is up and running, you can find links to all the old video's on Myspace in a list on the forum, also links to my other sites and video that aren't skating related. To leave me a message just register it's quick and free.

The contact Form is up and running, so it's easy to contact me.
